Fall is so beautiful. The leaves, the weather, Halloween. What’s not to love about the Fall? We have started a few fall traditions. One of those is apple picking! Once the girls start school they immediately look forward to apple picking. This year I hope to do many more Fall activities. I have compiled a list of fun Fall activities to do in New York. Apple Picking is our family and friend tradition. This year will make our third year in a row! We usually go to Wilkens Fruit Farm and Fir. This apple farm also has pumpkin picking! One of our favorite fall activities.
Similar to an apple farm except the actual apple picking, enjoy drinking a day of drinking Apple Cider and of course, my favorite of all, Apple Cider donuts. Try this Cider mill: Jericho Cider Mill.
The annual Medieval Festival ( FREE) is hosted at Fort Tryon, home of the Met Cloisters. It is on October 1st, from 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM. There will be Robin Hood live-action entertainment at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM as well as a children’s parade at 4:00 PM. Dress up is encouraged.
MEDIEVAL TIMES RESTAURANT
Enjoy dinner and show, while staying in the “dress up” theme at Medieval Times.
Catch Hansel and Gretal’s Halloween Adventure at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater in Central Park. Showtimes are usually around 1 PM. Tickets are $8 for kids and $12 for adults. This has to be the cutest puppet show the girls have ever seen (according to them).
Fall foliage is what makes Fall, Fall! You can enjoy by walking through Central Park, Prospect Park, or Fort Tryon Park. Or join the park rangers and learn about why leaves change colors when you go on a FREE Foliage Hike at Bloomingdale Park, October 22, 2017, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
Open through the end of October, one of our favorite places to visit! Enjoy some time away from the city at Governors Island jumping in leaves or visit Governors Island for the NIGHT OF 1000 Jack-O- Lanterns. It is being hosted October 26-29. Tickets are needed in advanced.
PUMPKIN PICKING/ CORN MAZE
Pumpkin Picking is the best, We usually go to Queens County Farm. This farm is amazing, the twins never want to leave. Feed the animals, go on a corn maze, and pumpkin picking all in one spot. Full family fun day. Enjoy from September 30th through October 29th. The farm is open from 11:00 AM- 4:30 PM.
CHILDREN’S FALL FESTIVAL
Queens County Farm also hosts a children Fall Festival. Pony rides, hay rides, haunted houses, live music, and more. Dressing up is encouraged. The festival will be on Sunday, October 29, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. $20 admission fee. (BRING CASH)
HALLOWEEN HARVEST AT LUNA PARK
We can’t get over Coney Island. The Halloween Harvest at Luna Park has already begun, now through October 29. Enjoy face painting, pony rides, magic shows, and of course the amusement rides.
BOO AT THE ZOO
Enjoy Halloween fun with your favorite animals, Halloween hayride, and the Nature Trek. Build Fairy Gnome homes on October 14. The costume parade and candy trails are our favorites. Boo at the Zoo will be open on the weekends from September 30th through October 29th, plus Monday, October 9th.
Paint some pumpkins for FREE in the Bronx at the United We Stand Community Garden, on Thursday, October 26, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Paint and pumpkins will be provided, other decorations are encouraged to bring.
PJ MASK LIVE!
Catch everyone’s favorite superheroes, live! PJ mask will be at Madison Square Garden, October 14 and 15.
TRICK OR TREAT AT AMNH
Stay warm by Trick or Treating at the American Museum of Natural History’s Annual Halloween Celebration. Dress up and enjoy the characters the whole day on October 28th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Tickets are $15.

DARE TO DREAM: DISNEY ON ICE
See your favorite Disney Characters on Disney on Ice: DARE TO DREAM. You’ll see Mickey including Anna, Elsa, and Moana at the Barclay Center, November 9-12.
THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE
End the fall season celebrating and see the biggest balloons ever at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
